This research project was devoted to the development of didactic interventions focused on the history of scientific racism and the subsequent deconstruction of the biological concept of race by modern genetics as a starting point for reflecting on the nature of scientific knowledge and the social function of contemporary technosciences. Principles were developed for the design of didactic interventions focused on the history of the «race sciences» in Brazil, with the aim of enabling university science students to develop a more balanced view of the historical nature of science and the complexity of the relationships between science, technology and society (STS) throughout history. Among the activities developed, I highlight the design research and application of different didactic interventions on «Scientific Racism in Brazilian History» in public schools and universities in the municipalities of Salvador and Feira de Santana (Bahia, Brazil) . One of the main objectives of the project was to produce knowledge that can contribute to the reflection on the historical nature of scientific knowledge and its social function, with special emphasis on the potential scientific legitimation of racial othering processes presented by certain scientific discourses.

These educational innovations were implemented at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA, Salvador, Brazil), the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS) and the Gastão Guimarães Secondary School, in Feira de Santana, Bahia (Brazil). The didactic sequences designed and implemented as a result of the project led to the creation of a public exhibition entitled Science, Race and Literature, which was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Feira de Santana (Bahia, Brazil), and which proved to be a great success. Since then, this exhibition has been shown itinerantly in several Universities and public schools in different Brazilian cities, with almost 20 editions until 2025. Numerous research articles derived from this research were also published in Brazilian and international journals by me and other members of the project.
